From Your Office to Ours and Back — in 3-5 Days
No phone tag. No surprise charges. No waiting weeks. Here's exactly what happens when you ship your handpiece to HandpieceMD.
Get a Free Shipping Label — in Minutes
Fill out our online form with your contact info and what's wrong with the handpiece. We email you a pre-paid shipping label within minutes. Prefer to skip the printer? Request a free mail kit — we ship it to your office with protective packaging, a repair form, and the return label already inside.
- No upfront cost — shipping both ways is free
- Use FedEx, UPS, or USPS — whichever is closest
- Bulk discounts available for dental groups and DSOs
Sterilize, Pack, Ship
Autoclave your handpiece per CDC and OSHA guidelines and leave it in the sterilization pouch. Place it in a sturdy box (not a padded envelope — handpieces are precision instruments and need rigid protection in transit). Attach the pre-paid label, drop it at any carrier location, and you're done.
- Tracking information included so you know where it is
- Most shipments reach our facility in 2-3 business days
- Multiple handpieces can ship in the same box

The 10-Step Process Every Handpiece Goes Through
When your handpiece arrives at our Orange, California facility, it doesn't just get a quick fix. Every unit follows the same rigorous process we've refined over 48 years.
Receiving & Documentation
Your handpiece is checked in, photographed, and matched to your service ticket. Every detail of its condition is documented.
Visual & Mechanical Inspection
A factory-trained technician examines bearings, chuck mechanism, fiber optics, water lines, and air lines for wear, damage, or contamination.
Diagnostic Testing
The handpiece is tested under load with calibrated instruments to identify the root cause — not just the symptom — of every issue.
Free Detailed Estimate
You receive a written estimate breaking down what needs to be done, the parts required, and the cost. No work begins without your approval.
Complete Disassembly
Once approved, every component is disassembled in a controlled environment to avoid contamination or damage to precision parts.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Components are ultrasonically cleaned to remove decades of debris, lubricant residue, and contaminants invisible to the eye.
Precision Parts Replacement
Ceramic ABEC-9 bearings, O-rings, seals, turbines, and chucks — replaced with our own American-manufactured parts engineered to OEM specs or better.
Reassembly & Lubrication
Hand-reassembled by trained technicians and lubricated per manufacturer specifications using the exact oils each unit requires.
Performance Testing Under Load
Chuck concentricity verified, water/air lines flow-tested, fiber optic output measured, and the handpiece run under simulated clinical load.
Polish, Pack, Ship
Polished to professional finish, packaged securely with a service report, and shipped back to your office with tracking — usually within 24–48 hours of arrival.
