Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: March 9, 2026
Handpiece Parts & Products, Inc., operating as HandpieceMD, is committed to ensuring that our website (handpiecemd.com) is accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We recognize our responsibility under applicable accessibility laws and strive to provide an inclusive digital experience for every visitor.
Standard and Conformance Level
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. Level AA conformance means the site satisfies all Level A and Level AA success criteria.
Accessibility Features
Our Site includes the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML5 structure with properly nested headings (h1 through h4) for screen reader navigation
- Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements, including menus, forms, FAQ accordions, and theme toggle
- Visible focus indicators meeting WCAG 2.1 requirements for keyboard users
- Color contrast ratios meeting or exceeding WCAG AA standards (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Skip navigation link on every page allowing keyboard users to bypass the main navigation
- ARIA labels and roles on all interactive elements, navigation landmarks, and form controls
- All form inputs have associated labels and error states are visually and programmatically identifiable
- Text is resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Support for reduced-motion preferences via the prefers-reduced-motion media query
- Dark and light display modes, with automatic detection of your operating system preference
- No content relies solely on color to convey information
- Print stylesheet for accessible printed output
Assistive Technology Compatibility
This Site is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies: NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android; keyboard-only navigation on all platforms; screen magnification tools; and speech recognition software such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking. The Site is tested in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we are aware of the following limitations:
- The Site does not currently contain photography or non-decorative images; therefore, alt text compliance applies only to our SVG icons and favicon, which are appropriately labeled or marked as decorative
- Some third-party components (Google reCAPTCHA v3 badge) may not fully meet WCAG standards; however, reCAPTCHA v3 operates invisibly and does not require user interaction
- PDF documents, if any are added in the future, may require additional remediation for screen reader compatibility
Evaluation Method
Accessibility of this Site was evaluated through a combination of automated testing tools, manual keyboard and screen reader testing, and code-level review of semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, and color contrast ratios. The most recent evaluation was conducted in March 2026.
